Old 1950s Silver, Brass & Chevron Moroccan Berber Ring
An authentic vintage high-grade silver Moroccan (Berber) ring with chevron bead, brass decoration and good granulation work. The layered glass bead is used to represent the ‘evil eye’ and is perceived to offer protection to the wearer, also echoed by the beautiful engraved patterning around the head of the ring. These multi-layered chevron beads were originally made in Murano, Venice, and were transported to North Africa where silversmiths incorporated slices of the beads to make these beautiful rings. Some natural wear commensurate with age.
