A simple clove necklace, made in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Scented cloves are traditionally worn on necklaces by people in the mountains to ward off evil and for protection. When warmed by the skin, they release a pleasant spice aroma to act as an antiperspirant.

The necklace comprises multiple strands of cloves (some scent remains), with a central genuine amber bead as the focal point. Glass beads, old silver cone dangles, plastic beads and old silver French centime coins complete the necklace.
