Old Leather Hair Adornment, Draa Valley, Morocco

£95.00

Very old items of hair adornment from the Draa valley region of Morocco. Leather pieces are adorned with colourful glass beads and metal dangles. These would have been worn by poorer people who sought to imitate their peers wearing the more lavish traditional leather hair attachments that were adorned with real coral instead of glass beads and real silver coins instead of metal dangles, but sadly did not have the means. These items of hair adornment are a beautiful piece of history and as such very collectible. The last photo is of a similar pair in the MAP Museum, Marrakech.
