Rings

Rings across the traditions we work with tend to be substantial silver pieces, and made to last. Yemeni "tower" rings rise dramatically from the finger, hand-worked with granulation and sometimes set with agate, coloured glass or coral. Tuareg rings from Mali and Niger often display fine detail, for example tisek, mosque and moon rings. Some are made to be worn as a ring, pendant or hair ornament, moving between roles as their owner needed. Central Asian rings (Turkmen, Kazakh, Afghan) favour carnelian and coloured glass in oval or teardrop cabochons.
