Beautiful Antique Silver Gilded Kazakh Pendant & Chain, Central Asia

£545.00

Stunning antique high-grade silver Kazakh pectoral ornament with fire-gilding. This old, traditional, high quality pendant has a central ornate raised glass element, under which is red paper/foil as is common with old Kazakh jewellery. This was used to mimic more expensive jewels such as carnelian. The hirz is embellished with patterns in granulation. Intricate silver work forms the border design and seven original silver dangles complete the piece. In very good condition for its age.

A stunning item for the discerning collector.
