An old ornate silver and brass pendant from Mauritania. This type of pendant was worn in the hair and frequently attached to headdresses. Locally they were called boudh meaning ‘belly button’.

The bead has an intricate granulated design, similar to agrab al fadda beads, and would make an attractive wearable pendant with history.
