Rare Antique Tibetan Yak Leather & Silver Bullet Case, 19th Century Himalayan Tribal Pouch with Coral

£325.00

A rare antique 19th century Tibetan bullet holder, made of yak leather and adorned with an embellished silver front panel. At the centre of the decorative panel is an ornate coral cabochon.

The bullet case was traditionally used by rural Tibetan farmers to carry small cartridges. It opens to reveal a pouch designed for this purpose. The case opens and closes by means of a hook on the inner lid. A brass decorative bar with bail tops the pouch enabling it to be attached to a belt or waist sash.

This is a wonderful ethnographic piece to add to your collection.
