This old 1960s traditional silver Berber khamsa is a symbolic hand shape comprising five raised elements symbolising the five fingers of the hand. It comprises two thin sheets of silver with hammered and punched repoussé elements which are sealed together back to back to form a reversible pendant. It is worn as an amulet and perceived to protect the wearer from harm. A beautiful pendant in good vintage condition.
