A beautiful old silver Tuareg khomissar in the shape of a stylised hand, the five diamond shapes representing fingers. This is a very finely etched piece with distinct patterns. It is very good quality.

The decorated silver sheet on which the diamond shapes are cut and engraved is mounted on a copper base. Small leather inserts add further decoration to the top of the khomissar. Wearing a khomissar is believed to ward off the ‘evil eye’.

This is an amazing item demonstrating very skilled work by a Tuareg artisan. Highly collectible and wearable.
