Antique Persian Qajar Silver Bazuband Plaques, Magic Square Talisman, c.1900
These three exceptional rare silver amulet plaques are from an antique Persian bazuband of the Qajar era (early 20th century). They form an upper arm ornament believed to offer protection from both physical and spiritual harm.
These unique plaques are very finely engraved. Two of the plaques have a very similar hand etched design; the third presumably has been worn as the central piece to this bazuband.
The central design of the two identical plaques features a grid pattern, possibly a 'magic square' with words, symbols and numbers, surrounded by circular and linear etchings. The third plaque has very elaborate etching, a work of painstaking art. They all have wonderful patina due to age.

This type of bazuband would typically be found in private collections and museums today. This is a very rare find for the discerning collector.
