Large Mid-century Silver Temporal Earrings, Anti-Atlas Mountains, Morocco
Large mid-century silver temporal adornment, made by the Akhsass tribe of the Anti-Atlas, Morocco, circa 1940. These large temporals would have been worn either side of a woman’s head attached to a headband which crosses the head or attached to a head veil giving the appearance of earrings. The hoops are high quality silver (tested) with niello decoration, as are the pendant components. Traditional yellow and green enamel completes the temporals. In good vintage condition.
