Antique Complete Fibula from Tiznit, Morocco
A very old complete fibula from the Tiznit region of Morocco, made from high quality silver (tested). The central element is a silver tagemout and the fibula has 3 x large old coins dated 1321, 1331 and 1336 in the Hijri calendar - corresponding to 1903, 1912 and 1917 in the Gregorian calendar. It features ornate patterning. The enamel has all worn off the raised central elements of the triangular fibulae due to age and wear and the piece generally has a lovely worn patina. Very collectible.
Silver, silver coins
Whole length 78 cm. Each fibula 20 cm (h) x 9.5 cm (w)
