{"product_id":"amu-155-g","title":"Rare Antique Silver Trarza ‘Boghdad’ Cross, Mauritania","description":"\u003cp\u003eA rare antique silver \u003cem\u003eboghdad\u003c\/em\u003e cross made in the late 1800s, from the area of Boultilimit in the Trarza region of Mauritania. A finely engraved silver sheet is cut and mounted on a base of ebony wood via rivets, the heads of which are the dominant silver ball granulations.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe leather inserts which were once in the four ‘arms’ of this cross have been lost over time revealing the wood beneath. The engraved pattern remains as does the central red surround of the granulation. This cross has a lovely patina developed over years of wear.
